➡️ How do I choose between a family, sporty or expert canyon?
It all depends on the age and level of your group. The family canyon is suitable from age 7 for a gentle first experience. The sporty canyons (Balme, Nyon, Bronze) are aimed at people comfortable in water with a reasonable fitness level, from age 10 to 12. Expert canyons are reserved for experienced practitioners who can progress independently on large vertical drops. If in doubt, the guide will help you choose the right route for your group when you book.
➡️ Which canyon should I choose depending on my children's age?
From age 7, the family canyon is the only suitable option. Between 10 and 11, the Bronze Canyon may suit young athletes who are comfortable in water. From age 12, the Balme and Nyon canyons become accessible. Expert canyons are not recommended under 16 and require prior canyoning experience.
➡️ Can we do two canyons in the same day?
This is possible for groups in good physical shape looking for a full day of adventure. Some combinations are available depending on availability and the season. Contact the guide directly to arrange a tailor-made day.
➡️ Are expert canyons really only for experienced people?
Yes, without exception. Expert canyons such as Salvadon or Pointe Percée involve abseils of 30 to 50 metres in high mountain environments, far from any quick access. They require mastery of rope techniques and proven canyoning experience. They are not suitable as a first outing, even for fit and sporty participants.
➡️ Can we progress from one level to the next in the same season?
Absolutely. Many participants start with the family canyon or Balme early in the season, then come back to try Nyon or Bronze after a successful first experience. The guide can advise on the ideal progression based on how you felt after each outing.
